Separate account access from inventory
A free reseller account may allow catalog browsing and order management without charging a registration fee. It does not establish that the services you resell are free. Identify the supplier’s current service rates and funding minimums before quoting customers. Treat any trial credit as temporary, limited support for testing rather than a sustainable margin.
Write down the money path
Map the customer’s payment, your payment processing costs, supplier funding and the final service order. If each customer pays you separately but the supplier requires a larger deposit, your working balance must bridge that difference. Include currency conversion and payment charges where they actually apply, without assuming that every payment method has identical costs.
Budget for time and exceptions
Order entry is only one part of reselling. Customers may ask about pending orders, wrong links, partial delivery or replacement eligibility. Decide who handles each issue and what evidence is needed. A nominally free account can still require substantial support time, so price the service around your whole workflow rather than the catalog rate alone.
Choose a small launch scope
Start with a limited number of services whose requirements you can explain accurately. Keep your customer-facing descriptions aligned with the supplier’s current terms. Record changes before taking another order, and avoid promising a fixed delivery time you cannot control. Review a sample of completed orders and actual costs before expanding the catalog.
Does a free reseller account include a website?
Not necessarily. Ordering-account access, a hosted storefront and a software license are separate products and should be confirmed individually.
