Use distinct columns
Record plays and likes under their own labels with separate quantities. A bundle’s total should not conceal its composition. Keep the exact track URL alongside both metrics so a report cannot mix observations from similar uploads.
Separate purchase from observation
For each metric, show what was requested and what was observed during the chosen period. Do not assume that every observed change came from the order. Ordinary listeners, other promotion and unrelated activity can affect the same track.
Avoid invented ratios
A ratio between plays and likes can be calculated from observations, but it does not by itself prove quality, authenticity or campaign success. Describe what the ratio measures and its limitations. Do not promise that a purchased combination will produce a particular audience response.
Decision checklist
| Decision | What to check |
|---|---|
| Composition | Requested plays and likes separately |
| Observation | Comparable period for each metric |
| Interpretation | No unsupported quality claim from a ratio |
Worked example
For a hypothetical package containing 800 plays and 40 likes, report those components separately. If the observed counters rise by different amounts, record the observations without rewriting the package as a single 840-unit listening result.
Example figures explain the decision; they are not current prices or promised results.
