Treat names as labels
Display names are useful for recognition but should not be the sole target identifier. Open the exact profile and compare its releases with the intended artist. A similar photograph or familiar name can still lead to the wrong destination.
Record stable context
Save the profile address and a short list of recognizable release details alongside the request. Follow the selected service’s input instructions. If the brief comes from a client, ask them to confirm the actual profile link instead of searching by name alone.
Resolve ambiguity before payment
If two profiles remain plausible, pause target selection and obtain confirmation. Do not choose the more popular result on the assumption that it is correct. An artist-level request cannot reliably be repaired by later describing a song title without an exact target.
Decision checklist
| Decision | What to check |
|---|---|
| Profile | Exact artist destination |
| Context | Known releases that identify the artist |
| Approval | Confirmed target from the responsible person |
Worked example
Suppose two unrelated artists use the same name. A client promoting an acoustic EP should confirm the profile containing that EP, rather than approving a search result that happens to show a larger audience.
Example figures explain the decision; they are not current prices or promised results.
