Read the billing basis
A rate displayed per thousand units is a scaling basis, while a package price may apply to a fixed quantity. Establish which model the listing uses before multiplying or dividing. Confirm that both offers refer to the same action.
Calculate the comparable charge
For a per-thousand rate, multiply the rate by the requested quantity and divide by 1,000. For a fixed package, use the package’s included quantity. Check the actual quoted charge before submission and note any conditions that affect the total.
Compare more than the quotient
Equivalent unit costs do not establish equivalent services. Keep accepted format, duration definition and relevant terms alongside the calculation. Do not compare a time-based audience package directly with a cumulative view quantity simply because both mention viewers.
Decision checklist
| Decision | What to check |
|---|---|
| Basis | Rate per thousand or fixed package |
| Quantity | Units actually included or requested |
| Scope | Same action and compatible conditions |
Worked example
If an illustrative rate is $4 per thousand, 250 units calculate to $1 before any separately stated adjustments. A $1 package is comparable only if it includes the same 250-unit action and compatible conditions.
Example figures explain the decision; they are not current prices or promised results.
