Map overlapping activity
Record the advertising campaign dates, relevant posts and other promotional activity before ordering. This inventory explains why a public counter may move independently of the panel's delivery record during the same period.
Keep different evidence streams
Retain the ad platform report, service order record and account insights separately. Do not add unlike metrics or treat a panel status as proof of advertising performance, conversions or incremental business results.
Describe uncertainty explicitly
Report what was ordered and what changed without claiming causation that the records cannot establish. Where a controlled comparison matters, design a separate evaluation period or matched experiment rather than retroactively assigning all growth to one service.
Decision checklist
| Decision | What to check |
|---|---|
| Overlap | Ad dates and service dates recorded |
| Metrics | Comparable definitions before addition |
| Conclusion | Observed change versus proven source |
Worked example
A hypothetical Reel gains 700 visible actions during a period that includes an ad campaign and a 300-unit service order. The report lists both activities. It does not claim that the remaining 400 were organic or that the service caused the entire increase.
Example figures explain the decision; they are not current prices or promised results.
