State the desired behavior
If the brief concerns saving an item for later reference, a save-related offer addresses that action. If it concerns website visits, examine a clearly defined outbound-click offer instead. Neither action alone establishes a purchase, a qualified lead or future customer intent.
Compare units separately
Do not rank the two service types only by price per thousand because the units differ. Review the accepted target, delivery definition and evidence for each. A cheaper save rate is not evidence that it will produce the website traffic required by the brief.
Measure the next step independently
Use the relevant authorized analytics for destination visits or conversions. A saved Pin can be meaningful to a campaign, but it is not proof that the destination was opened. Keep the purchased action and any measured business outcome as separate lines in the report.
Decision checklist
| Decision | What to check |
|---|---|
| Save | Pin-level saving action |
| Outbound click | Defined destination action |
| Sale | Separately measured conversion |
Worked example
A hypothetical retailer wants to test whether its landing page attracts inquiries. Comparing save prices would not answer the traffic question. First choose the relevant action definition, then track visits and inquiries separately instead of treating either as guaranteed by the order.
Example figures explain the decision; they are not current prices or promised results.
