Identify the fixed target
Copy the intended message's accepted link and record its publication context. A description such as the pinned post can become ambiguous when administrators change which message is pinned. The target should remain identifiable even after its display position changes.
Check whether the message persists
If the campaign plan includes deleting or replacing the announcement, coordinate that decision before placing an order. A newly published replacement is not automatically the same target. Ask about active-order handling if the existing message must be changed or removed.
Use a stable reporting reference
Capture observations against the message link rather than the channel's current pinned position. This protects the report from accidental target switching. If a different announcement is later pinned, label it as a new item and keep the earlier order's evidence separate.
Decision checklist
| Decision | What to check |
|---|---|
| Identity | Exact message link |
| Position | Pin status may change |
| Reporting | Track the original item |
Worked example
For illustration, a channel pins a sale announcement on Monday and a support notice on Tuesday. A view order for Monday's announcement should still be traced by that message's link. The phrase pinned post no longer identifies the purchase reliably on Tuesday.
Example figures explain the decision; they are not current prices or promised results.
