Inspect the actual destination
Determine whether the selected post plays a video within the platform or directs viewers to another website. A service for X video views should not be assumed to add views to that external destination. The listing must define which object receives the action.
Match the submitted URL
Use the target format requested by the service. A post link, external video URL and account address identify different objects. When uncertain, send the proposed link to support and ask about compatibility rather than choosing the nearest-looking category and testing with a paid order.
Separate the reporting systems
If the campaign includes both an X post and an external video, maintain distinct metrics for each. Clicks away from the post, views on the external site and views of native media are not interchangeable. A report should identify the source of each number.
Decision checklist
| Decision | What to check |
|---|---|
| Content | Native media or outbound destination |
| Input | Accepted target URL |
| Reporting | Keep platforms' metrics separate |
Worked example
For illustration, a post links to a YouTube interview. An X-specific view offer does not automatically describe YouTube viewing. The buyer must identify which platform's metric is desired and select a service whose target requirements explicitly match that intention.
Example figures explain the decision; they are not current prices or promised results.
