Distinguish edits from replacement
Check whether the team is changing details on the existing item or publishing a different item with another URL. Those actions have different implications for an order tied to a specific content identifier.
Communicate before significant changes
Tell the ordering operator before changing visibility, removing content or replacing the target. Consult the listing or support if a proposed change affects a stated requirement rather than assuming all edits are harmless.
Maintain a change log
Record the original target, approved update and time of the change. This helps separate a service issue from a campaign change and prevents later reports from describing an order as if it targeted different creative.
Decision checklist
| Decision | What to check |
|---|---|
| Change type | Existing item edit or new publication |
| Eligibility | Visibility and stated service requirements |
| Record | Original URL and dated change note |
Worked example
A hypothetical team corrects campaign wording but also considers deleting and reposting the Reel. It checks the active order first and records the decision. A newly created URL is not silently substituted for the target used in the paid request.
Example figures explain the decision; they are not current prices or promised results.
