Choose the test question
Decide whether you are checking ordering clarity, target compatibility or the evidence provided for a defined action. A small service test cannot establish every aspect of audience value. Keep the question narrow enough to evaluate with the available records.
Record target differences
Note the selected recording version, current promotional activity and relevant baseline for each track. Two tracks with very different release contexts may not provide a straightforward comparison. Do not assume a result difference is caused solely by the service.
Use a manageable allocation
Limit the number of targets so each order and observation can be traced. Keep the chosen quantity and charge separately for every track. Review the first set before increasing spending or adding more simultaneous requests.
Decision checklist
| Decision | What to check |
|---|---|
| Question | What the small test is intended to evaluate |
| Context | Version and other activity per track |
| Allocation | Separate quantities and records |
Worked example
For a hypothetical two-track test, one song is receiving newsletter promotion while the other is not. Record that difference before comparing their observed changes; equal ordered quantities do not make the surrounding conditions equal.
Example figures explain the decision; they are not current prices or promised results.
