Identify what is being sold
An offer about inclusion in a playlist describes a different promise from a quantity of track actions or playlist followers. Ask exactly what placement means, which list is involved and what evidence is supplied. Do not treat the labels as interchangeable.
Inspect the stated conditions
For a placement claim, clarify the proposed duration and any conditions governing removal. For an action-based service, clarify the action and quantity. Do not assume either description guarantees listeners, royalties or a particular commercial outcome.
Compare against the objective
Choose the comparison based on the campaign need rather than the largest headline number. Keep unresolved details visible in the brief. If the offer cannot explain its deliverable clearly, avoid converting it into a precise promise to a client.
Decision checklist
| Decision | What to check |
|---|---|
| Promise | Placement or a defined action |
| Conditions | Duration, quantity and limitations |
| Evidence | What confirms the stated deliverable |
Worked example
A hypothetical offer to appear on one playlist for a week differs from 1,000 specified track actions. Neither can be declared equivalent from those labels alone; the buyer needs the scope and evidence for each.
Example figures explain the decision; they are not current prices or promised results.
