Label every measurement
Write down the metric, reporting surface, time range and observation time. Two screens can answer different questions even when both concern the same video. A lifetime public counter and a selected-period report need an explanation before they can be compared.
Align the comparison
Use the same target and, where possible, a comparable time window. Preserve the original screenshots instead of repeatedly overwriting the baseline. Do not combine views, unique viewers and watch time into one number merely because they appear near each other.
Describe the remaining uncertainty
A mismatch can arise from scope, update timing or another unresolved cause. Avoid selecting whichever number makes the order appear complete. Send the labelled evidence to support and ask how the service’s deliverable relates to the observations you can obtain.
Decision checklist
| Decision | What to check |
|---|---|
| Metric | Views, people or duration |
| Window | Lifetime versus selected dates |
| Timestamp | When each observation was captured |
Worked example
Suppose the public counter is recorded Monday evening while a report is filtered to Sunday. Those numbers do not describe the same interval. Correct the time window before evaluating an illustrative order placed on Monday.
Example figures explain the decision; they are not current prices or promised results.
