Copy the purchased definition
Save the exact action described in the service listing, including any viewing condition it states. A generic view, a duration-qualified view and a reach figure should not be treated as interchangeable. Avoid filling missing definitions with assumptions based on another provider's terminology.
Align reporting windows
Compare observations taken for the same video and period. Lifetime counters and a date-filtered report can legitimately describe different totals. Record the time zone and export date if your report exposes them, and allow for the reporting behavior documented by the platform.
Separate attribution from change
A video can receive activity from followers, advertising and external sharing during the same period. Report the measured change and the order record separately when attribution is unavailable. A matching increase is not proof that all of it originated from the purchased service.
Decision checklist
| Decision | What to check |
|---|---|
| Metric | Use the listing's named measure |
| Window | Match dates and target video |
| Attribution | Separate order data from total change |
Worked example
Imagine a lifetime counter rises by 900 while a report filtered to one day shows 700. First check the dates and metric definitions. Subtracting the two numbers as a 200-view shortfall would be premature if they describe different windows.
Example figures explain the decision; they are not current prices or promised results.
