Save the original assumptions
Record the service ID, unit rate, quantity and quote time. Include the currency and any separately stated charges so a later difference can be explained without reconstructing the original calculation from memory.
Recalculate the current request
Use the current rate for the same specification and compare the resulting total. Confirm that the listing itself has not changed its target support or coverage while retaining a familiar category name.
Apply an approval rule
Decide who can accept a revised price and what variance requires renewed approval. An account with enough balance is not, by itself, permission to exceed the client's agreed campaign budget.
Decision checklist
| Decision | What to check |
|---|---|
| Old quote | Dated service and quantity assumptions |
| Current order | Live rate and final charge |
| Approval | Authorized response to any price variance |
Worked example
In a hypothetical estimate, 2,000 units were priced using a $1-per-1,000 rate. A later $1.20 rate changes the base calculation from $2 to $2.40. These illustrative figures show the revision method; they are not BuyTheFans price claims.
Example figures explain the decision; they are not current prices or promised results.
